The Tradewinds Solutions Marketplace is the premier offering of Tradewinds, the Department of War’s (DoW’s) suite of tools and services designed to accelerate the procurement and adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML), digital, and data analytics capabilities. 

PRE develops modular, long-duration energy storage solutions for mission-critical power, combining geomechanical pumped storage with U.S.-sourced sodium-ion battery technology. The system is designed to provide rapid-response, black-start capability followed by sustained power during grid disruptions, fuel interruptions, severe weather, and other threats to energy resilience.

PRE’s initial modular architecture is designed to provide 4 MW / 32 MWh, with a scalable pathway toward larger deployments. The sodium-ion battery layer provides rapid response while the geomechanical storage system provides long-duration power. The architecture is designed to leverage existing U.S. industrial capabilities, supply chains, and workforce expertise.
